Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Its been a very long time since I've posted to my blog.

We've been doing lots of traveling this year, and spending time with family.

We were in Hawaii in April/May 2015, and I have several new pieces created from the fabric I bought and based on the pictures we took in Hawaii.

I still have to create my 2015 Art Gallery, but that will come early in the new year.

In October and November we were in Collingwood Ontario and Stowe Vermont, where I found some wonderful fabric.

I have several new ideas for work in 2016, so now I just have to find the time as John and I will be very busy over the next 12 months.

I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and a very safe and happy holiday season.

Happy Canada Day!

Canada is a fantastic place to live, never more so during these trying times.

May all of your family and friends be safe on this Canada Day 2015.

Hawaii

John and I just returned from two weeks in Hawaii, and I have lots of new inspiration for my June 2016 exhibit.  I'll post them on the blog and on Facebook, as I finish them, but that will be the only  place they will be shown until June 2016.

I'll also post pictures over the next few weeks, as I catch up.

Spring Has Sprung!

Happy Spring and Happy Easter!

Life has been very busy.  We have a new granddaughter so life is good.  I have not been too creative over the last few months, but I am working on a black and white floral and a wonderful owl nature scape.  Both are coming along and should be done by the end of May.

Our new show at ArtScene, for April is called "Spring Has Sprung" and features work from our artists celebrating spring.  Here is the piece I am hanging for the show, entitled "Spring".   It is not new, but has been hidden away until recently.  It is one of my favourites - I love the way the fractures of the tulips ripple across the hanging.

Fifty Shades of Red and Other Things

Its been quite a busy winter so far.  I caught that nasty cold-flu going around, and that put a few crinkles in in plans.

To complicate matters, I've been in a quilting mood, so while I have been sewing, I have not been creating mounted fabric art.

When I quilt, I prefer small things, so lots of table runners, and things for the home and gifts.  Lots of fun, and easy to manage.  I can get creative using scraps, and still make lots of lovely work.

I'll start working on my next piece this week, a black and white monochromatic floral, with a few hints of red, here and there.  Should be fun.

My next show, most likely in early 2016, is entitled "Geishsas" and will feature large pieces, include a couple of current ones, and 4 new ones - all around 30" x 40".  They will take me some time to complete.  I have three of them planned, and have to find a fourth.  Some interesting research.

Here is a picture of me and my cat Shadow, helping me create.
